If you’re anything like me then you love a nice egg-y breakfast in the morning. It’ll always be a wild notion to me that I eat a lot of eggs now since I was born deathly allergic to them. A miracle, I guess.
Now that I do eat eggs, I’m always looking for interesting ways to prepare them. There are certain things I don’t go for like hard-boiled or poached or sunny-side up. As you can imagine, that doesn’t leave me with a whole lot of options.
Enter Gordon Ramsey’s scrambled eggs recipe.
But first, a little backstory:
I’m the type of person who watches something or reads something and wants the food the characters are eating. Believe it or not, that’s where I most get the inspiration to try new recipes. So, a few months ago I was re-reading one of my favourite fan fiction stories for the millionth time. I’ve since re-read it again; it’s that good. And no, I will not tell you the genre or plot or any information.
Anyways.
The character in this story is a master at making Gordon Ramsey’s scrambled eggs. Naturally, I needed to look up the recipe and try it for myself. I’ve linked the video if you want to check it out. Click the YouTube icon below.
The first two times I attempted the recipe, the eggs turned out a bit runny and messy but still tasted good. On the third try, they turned out perfectly. Ever since then, I’ve been making them probably a bit too much. I thought I’d share my love of this recipe to help make people’s breakfasts brighter.
Here is an easy to follow, step-by-step recipe of the way I make Gordon Ramsey’s scrambled eggs:
Ingredients:
- 2 Large Eggs
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Sour Cream
- Rye bread, toasted
- Salt and Pepper
- Cilantro
- Olive Oil

Note: These are how I make a single serving of eggs. Gordon Ramsey’s recipe calls for chives instead of cilantro, thicker sourdough bread, and crème fraîche (sour cream is a close substitute). Change the recipe to suit your own personal tastes.
Step 1:
Crack two eggs in a cold sauce pan. Add butter.

Step 2:
Place on high heat and constantly stir (not whisk!!) eggs and butter with a spatula.

Step 3:
When the eggs start to thicken, remove from heat for ten seconds, still stirring. Place back on heat for another ten seconds, constantly stirring.
I do this a few times, until eggs start to look fluffy.
Step 4:
Remove from heat and add salt and pepper. It’s important to season your eggs after they’re cooked.

Step 5:
Stir in the sour cream. This gives the eggs a bit more of a creamy texture.

Step 6:
On the toasted bread, add a little bit of olive oil. Spoon the mixture evenly on each slice of bread and finish with cilantro.

Enjoy!!
Once you try it, I promise you will love it and want to eat it all the time. I know I have to stop myself from making it almost every day!!
Disclaimer: This is 100% Gordon Ramsey’s recipe. I’m only sharing the way I make it because I love it so much. All credit for the original recipe goes to Gordon Ramsey.
